As mandated by A.R.S. § 41-4172 Anti-identification Procedures, the Arizona Game and Fish Department will take reasonable measures to protect personal identifying information including electronic identifiers as defined in A.R.S. § 13-2001 (10) from being accessed, viewed or acquired. Disclosure of personal identifying information may be required as mandated by Arizona’s public records laws. See A.R.S. § Title 39.

Online Customer Service and Alternatives

AZGFD offers many of the services online that you might otherwise transact in person. Our goal is to provide citizens with a more convenient and efficient means in which to interact with AZGFD. If at any time you choose not to proceed with a transaction offered through the AZGFD website, your choice will in no way affect your ability to receive benefits or services. If you prefer to apply for benefits or services in person, you may do so at an AZGFD office.

Collection and Use of Information

If you visit our website, your web browser automatically sends us information. We may use “cookies” in order to gather information during your visit and customize this site for return visits. You are NOT required to accept any cookies to use this site. The web server that hosts the AZGFD website gathers certain information about the visit automatically in a standard log file. The FOLLOWING information IS RETAINED AND does not identify you personally:

  2. The Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account, or “yourschool.edu” if you connect from a university’s domain) from which you access the website.

  9. If you log into the AZGFD system it will keep track of your User ID while you use the site. There is an optional checkbox to allow the User ID to remain in a semi-permanent cookie to remember your login information for the future.

AZGFD uses this information to gather statistics about the amount of use the site receives. This information is not shared, sold, or otherwise disseminated by AZGFD. We also use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of the site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP Address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other personal identifying information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie can only be used by Google Analytics. Google Analytics has a Terms of User and Privacy Policy that restricts the use of the information collected. You can prevent Google Analytics or this website from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

Although the AZGFD website and Google Analytics currently uses cookies, future changes to this website or Google Analytics may necessitate additional cookies along with other session enhancement methods. These will be thoroughly evaluated in order to determine their benefit to both the visitor and the service provider before being implemented. AZGFD will make reasonable and prudent efforts to incorporate your changes as soon as possible.

Advertisements on the AZGFD.gov Website

The Arizona Game & Fish Department’s website displays advertisements based on what the Department believes its users want to see. All advertisements will go through an approval process before they are posted to the website.

The Department will never share any information with our vendors that personally identifies you. Information shared with our vendors is as follows:

From time to time, depending on the vendor, we may show you ads based on your location (based on your current IP address), what your interests are (based on interest information you have provided the Department) or what your previous searches were. All advertisements are served from AZGFD servers and do not use a third-party service for serving up content.

Third Party Disclosure

Third party organizations contracted with AZGFD may provide certain services available on the behalf of AZGFD. Personal information collected through the web portal and/or over-the-counter may be provided to third party service providers to help the state deliver benefits and services. The state will take prudent steps to ensure that third-party organizations are obligated to secure and protect personal information on AZGFD behalf.

Information Collected from Children

Systems and Network Security

AZGFD and its consultants, as developer and manager of the AZGFD website, have taken several steps to safeguard the integrity of its computer systems and networks. These steps include, but are not limited to individual authentication, the security of transmitted data, security monitoring, auditing, and encryption of your information. Security methods and measures have been integrated into the design, implementation and day-to-day practices of the entire AZGFD website.

The AZGFD website contains links to various other websites operated by other government agencies, nonprofit organizations and private businesses. When you link to another site, you are no longer on the AZGFD website and this Privacy Statement will not apply to other sites. When you link to another website, you are subject to the privacy policy of that new site. Links to websites outside of AZGFD are offered solely for your convenience. Notifications to the Public

In the event of a security breach of personal information and after relevant law enforcement agencies have determined that notifications to the public will not impede a criminal investigation or threaten state and/or national security, AZGFD will notify its clients/recipients in the most expeditious manner possible that is in compliance with federal and state laws.
