About the Commission
The Commission is composed of five members appointed by the Governor pursuant to A.R.S. 38-211. The Commission appoints the Director of the Arizona Game and Fish Department, and the Director serves as secretary to the Commission. No more than one commissioner may be from any one county. No more than three may be from the same political party. Each commissioner serves a five-year term, staggered. Commissioners customarily serve as chair during their last year.

Agendas
Commission meeting notices/agendas and revised agendas will be posted at the AZGFD Headquarters, all Department regional offices and on the Department’s website. Agendas may be revised and additional items may be added up to 24 hours prior to the meeting as authorized by A.R.S. §38-431.02.

Meeting schedule
The Arizona Game and Fish Commission routinely conducts public meetings as authorized by A.R.S., Title 17-201.D. Meetings are held throughout the year at locations across the state.

commission awards
The Arizona Game and Fish Commission held its first annual awards banquet on Jan. 12, 1991. Since then, more than 400 recipients have been recognized with Commission awards. The awards banquet gives the Commission an opportunity to recognize individuals, groups and organizations for their contributions to Arizona’s wildlife resources.

appointment recommendation board
Per Arizona State Statute 17-202, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board assists the governor by interviewing, evaluating and recommending candidates for appointment to the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. The Board recommends at least two, but no more than five, candidates to the governor.
