PHOENIX — Learning how to shoot clay targets just got a whole lot easier.

A “new shooter” program gets underway Saturday, Nov. 23, with additional one-hour (8-9 a.m.) opportunities scheduled for Jan. 25, Feb. 15, March 8, April 19, and May 17 at the Ben Avery Clay Target Center.

The cost is $25 per person and includes shotgun rental, ammunition, eyewear and hearing protection, clay targets, firearm safety orientation, and individual instruction.

The Clay Target Center is a professionally managed public shotgun-shooting facility, located at 5060 W. Skeet St. (about 1.5 miles west of Interstate 17 on West Carefree Highway) in north Phoenix.
